seems you have a nice experience from the RSPCA. I once had a horrible experience and to this day I am still waiting for my home visit (16yrs) I was a single mum to 3 children and wanted a family dog. in the end I went out and brought a puppy, Narla was with us 13 years.

I didn't know that you could adopt from the RSPCA... I just assumed all animals they rescued when to dogs and cats homes. It's nice to know there are animla ninjas to fight their corner.
We adopted Stevie (our cat) from a friend that couldn't face taking him back to the home she'd gotten him from. He was making her existing cat's life a misery... and we had a mouse problem.
It's been a match made in heaven ever since. Love my furbaby xx

We were considering getting a cat. Or rather my husband wanted to get one to deal with the mice problem. Though I like animals I'm not ready to get one now (I'm due soon) . Once the baby is bigger I think we will get a dog, as they are a more suitable play mate for kids - I think. We will definitely adopt rather than buy.
Thanks for all the tips. It's good to know how simple the process is.
